Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)

Lym Consults HUET accredited training course is designed to provide oil and gas working personnel who travel by helicopter to offshore 4locations with an understanding of helicopter escape procedures and, in particular, actions to be taken to safely escape from a ditched or capsized helicopter. Delegates are introduced to HUET training in a theoretical manner which is followed by practical demonstration and delegate participation in the swimming pool.

Our state-of-the-art Modular Egress Training Simulator, METSTM Model 9000 Twin Gantry Hoist TGHTM, was designed and installed by Survival Systems Limited, Canada. It was designed to ensure that the delegate(s) are provided with the highest level of safety, reliability and user friendly options that is available for aircraft ditching/capsizing training.

Lym Consults is currently in partnership with Survival Systems Limited, Canada, who are known as the world leaders in the Offshore Safety Training Industry. This is to ensure that we achieve our vision in providing adequate safety training to delegates who travel to offshore locations by helicopter. Our Modular Egress Training Simulator (METS) is currently maintained by Survival Systems Limited, Canada.

7 hours 20 mins per day


Training Days

Mondays – Fridays


Delegates must be at least 18 years of age.

Personnel who travel by helicopter over water to offshore locations.

  • Actions prior to ditching
  • Actions following simulated ditching including submersion and inversion of helicopter
  • Helicopter emergency procedures



Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) approved HUET certificate and Licence will be issued on successful completion of the course.

Our DPR approved certificate/permit is honoured and accepted by all International Oil Companies (IOCs) & Servicing Companies operating in the Nigerian Oil & Gas Sector.


Every four years

Items to Bring

All delegates must bring their medical reports and two passport photographs.


As a further health check, all delegates will be screened by our medical team at our clinic within the facility prior to course commencement.
